What problem does this solve?
Inspect the components and parameters of an absolute HTTP/HTTPS URL without visiting it.
Step by step in ViBytes Tools
- Enter a URL without credentials, spaces, controls or backslashes.
- Analyze it and inspect the normalized URL.
- Read parameters in order, including repeated names; copy the result if needed.
Worked example and how to check it
Input: https://www.iana.org/?x=1&x=two+words
Expected result: Two x parameters: “1” and “two words”. In the query, + means a space.
Common mistakes and decisions
The normalized URL can differ from the input: WHATWG rules resolve path segments and default ports. Repeated parameters remain an ordered list rather than overwriting each other in an object. Within a query, + means a space; a literal + must be represented as %2B.
Limits before you continue
- Up to 8,192 characters and 200 parameters. Invalid or incomplete percent escapes are rejected.
- WHATWG normalization can resolve segments, ports and IDNs. This is not a reputation or phishing check.
Frequently asked question
Does successful parsing mean the link is safe?
No. It checks structure, not reputation, phishing or destination content. The tool makes no request to that URL.
