JSON ↔ YAML converter

Convert JSON to YAML or YAML to JSON locally. Reject aliases, unsafe types and numbers that cannot be transformed without losing precision.

100,000 characters and 64 levels. Numbers that would lose precision are rejected.

YAML 1.2: aliases, tags, duplicate/reserved keys and non-JSON types are rejected. Comments and original formatting are not retained.

What this tool does

Exchange configurations that can be represented as JSON data. Validation runs before conversion; YAML comments and styles are not preserved.

How to use it

  1. Choose the direction and paste the document.
  2. Process and review any type or precision incompatibility.
  3. Copy or download the result and check its meaning before use.

Verifiable example

Input
JSON with a [1,2] list and name José.
Expected result
YAML contains the same list and Unicode text.

Limitations to review

  • 100,000 characters, 64 levels and 20,000 nodes. Aliases, tags and duplicate/reserved keys are rejected.
  • Unsafe numbers, non-finite values and types without a JSON equivalent are not silently converted.
