QR image reader

Read a QR code from a local JPG, PNG or WebP and copy its contents. No camera access, content execution or automatic link opening.

Static JPG, PNG or WebP up to 5 MiB, 8 MP and 4096 px per side. No camera access or automatic visits to QR content. A decoded link may be unsafe.

What this tool does

Recover text from a QR screenshot or image. Contents are displayed as text even when they resemble HTML or instructions; recognized URLs are identified without visiting them.

How to use it

  1. Select a static image containing a complete, readable QR.
  2. Select Read QR; review the decoded text and its origin.
  3. Copy only if you trust the contents, or reset to clear them.

Verifiable example

Input
QR containing Hello, Ecuador 🌎.
Expected result
The same Unicode text, without navigation or execution.

Limitations to review

  • Up to 5 MiB, 8 MP and 4096 px per side; one QR per operation.
  • Not an antivirus. Blur, cropping or low contrast may prevent decoding.
