CSV to JSON
Convert UTF-8 CSV into JSON with every cell preserved as text.
UTF-8 CSV: files up to 1 MiB; both input modes accept up to 500,000 UTF-16 units. Maximum 10,000 rows including the header, 100 columns, 100,000 cells and 4 MiB of output. Every cell is preserved as text. Inputs are neither sent nor saved.
A selected file takes priority over pasted text. LF/CRLF separators are supported; files preserve spaces and line breaks inside quoted fields. The browser text editor normalizes breaks to LF: use a file to preserve exact CRLF. Formulas remain JSON strings; review any later use in spreadsheets.
What this tool does
Convert UTF-8 CSV to JSON objects with headers, or arrays without headers, without type inference.
How to use it
- Paste CSV or select a UTF-8 file, which takes priority.
- Choose the delimiter and whether the first row is a header.
- Convert and download the complete JSON; the preview may be truncated.
Verifiable example
- Input
- CSV header code,name followed by 001,Ana.
- Expected result
- An object whose code is the string “001”, not the number 1.
Limitations to review
- Files up to 1 MiB; both modes up to 500,000 UTF-16 units; 10,000 rows, 100 columns, 100,000 cells and 4 MiB output.
- Duplicate or empty headers and irregular rows are rejected. Files preserve quoted CRLF; the editor normalizes to LF. Formulas are neither executed nor removed.
