Open Password and token generator

What it does

Generate strings with crypto.getRandomValues and rejection sampling to avoid bias. Supports passwords with configurable character sets and base64url-alphabet tokens.

When to use it

Use this tool when its stated local workflow and limits match your task. Review the result before relying on it.

Steps

  1. Choose password or token and a whole-number length from 8 to 128.
  2. In password mode, select at least one allowed character set.
  3. Generate and explicitly copy only to a trusted destination. Reset to clear this view.

Verifiable example

Input: Token mode, length 32.

Expected result: 32 characters selected from A–Z, a–z, 0–9, hyphen and underscore. Contents change on every generation; no sample is offered as a reusable password.

Common mistakes

Do not reuse the generated value or paste it into untrusted sites. An empty character selection or a non-integer length is rejected.

Limitations

  • Each position uses the allowed alphabet; one character from each set is not required. No account creation, storage or management.
  • No absolute-security guarantee. The system clipboard or extensions may retain or read the result; reset does not clear it or ensure forensic erasure.

Frequently asked questions

Is my input uploaded?

No. This workflow runs locally in the browser. Visiting the site still downloads software and public resources; inputs and results are not stored automatically.

Does this certify security or authenticity?

No. Read the stated scope and limitations. Browser memory, extensions and the operating system remain outside a guarantee of forensic erasure.
