Open JSON formatter and validator
What problem does this solve?
Validate strict JSON and format it while retaining number literals, key order and escaped strings.
Step by step in ViBytes Tools
- Enter JSON and choose an allowed indentation.
- Validate and format; correct any reported error.
- Copy the result and verify the data before using it elsewhere.
Worked example and how to check it
Input: Input {"n":9007199254740993}.
Expected result: The number remains exactly 9007199254740993, without rounding.
Common mistakes and decisions
The integer 9007199254740993 cannot be represented exactly as a JavaScript Number. This formatter preserves the number literal and changes presentation only. A receiving system can still round it: check that system’s parser. Duplicate keys are rejected rather than silently choosing one value.
Limits before you continue
- Comments, trailing commas and JavaScript expressions are not accepted. Duplicate keys and excessive nesting are rejected.
- Up to 100,000 UTF-16 units, 64 levels, 20,000 values and bounded output. Formatting does not validate the meaning of data.
Frequently asked question
Are comments or trailing commas supported?
No. Those are extensions of other formats, not strict JSON. Correct the error; the tool does not use eval or execute content.
