Open Crop images

What it does

Remove borders or focus on a detail without confusing preview size with file resolution. Coordinates refer to the image after browser orientation handling.

When to use it

Use this workflow when the example below matches your task and the documented limits fit your input. Keep the original and review the output before sharing it.

Steps

  1. Load a static image and wait for the preview.
  2. Drag a selection or edit X, Y, width and height; choose a ratio if useful.
  3. Select Crop and inspect the preview and downloaded PNG dimensions.

Worked example

800 × 600 image; X=100, Y=50, width=400, height=300.

A 400 × 300 PNG containing that rectangle, not a resize of the full image.

Common mistakes and limitations

  • Up to 5 MiB, 8 MP and 4096 px per side; PNG output up to 20 MiB.
  • Animations are unsupported. Color profiles may change; transparency is retained when decoded by the browser.
